Associate Director of Annual Giving

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Class Volunteer Management: Identify, recruit, train and manage Fund for Davidson volunteers including Class Ambassadors (Classes of 1984-1995), Reunion Gift Chairs, and Reunion Committees (35th, 55th, 60th) to create class affinity, engagement, and reaching class participation and dollar goals. Plan, prepare for, conduct and follow-up on volunteer calls and meetings. Devise and execute fundraising strategies for each class and regularly provide updated fundraising information statistics to volunteers through the year.

  • Leadership Management: Provide leadership in the Office of Annual Giving and help inform overall goals for The Fund for Davidson. Serve as project manager for key fundraising initiatives including Giving Tuesday and implementing and monitoring the matching gifts program. Directly supervise the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and the programs that fall under including reunion giving strategy and volunteer management platform.

  • Technology: Spearhead strategy for our matching gift (Double the Donation) and crowdfunding platforms (GiveCampus) and investigate new technologies for consideration in overall Fund for Davidson strategies.

  • Direct Cultivation and Solicitation: Conduct 30 face-to-face or virtual visits annually and maintain a precise record of donor contacts through the Blackbaud CRM prospect management system.

  • Employee Giving: Manage employee giving chairs and author solicitations twice a year with the goal of growing participation.


Additional Information:

Night and weekend work required when related to special events throughout the year. This position may require up to 25% travel. This position is currently eligible to work remotely 1-2 days per week (subject to change) upon approval of supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience or certification.
  • 2+ years of development or related experience.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in higher education, fundraising, alumni and/or constituent relations, volunteer management, public relations, nonprofit administration and/or related fields
  • High degree of personal initiative.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, especially in working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong desire and ability to work effectively with persons from diverse generational, religious, racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and grow with technological change.


* Training on the division's software systems will be provided.
