We are actively looking for a Marine Structural Engineer / Project Manager to join our Woodlands or Katy office. As part of the Marine Structural Group, the Marine Structural Engineer will perform project management and lead the design of waterfront structures such as piers, bulkheads, breakwaters, shoreline protection systems, small boat harbors, floating platforms and ferry landings. This position will also work with teams across the company on a variety of structural projects related to marine and transportation infrastructure engineering.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Establish standards, design approach and manage the technical analysis of marine structures and foundations using cast-in-place/prestressed concrete, steel, and timber
  • Act as Project Manager for a wide range of project sizes
  • Provide structural design, perform peer review, and oversee the design of other engineers
  • Assist on Proposals and Business Development opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Monitor and report on project scope and budget
  • Actively participate in the training and development of junior staff
  • Provide quality reviews of drawings and calculations
  • Interact directly with clients

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural engineering; required
  • Master's Degree in Structural engineering; preferred
  • Professional Engineering license (PE) in Texas or ability to gain through reciprocity within 6 months; required
  • 15+ years of experience in Marine / Waterfront Structural Engineering Design, Project Management, Business Development, and staff training and development; required
  • Knowledge of regional / local client pool and have relationships that will help with business development; required
  • Experience as a Sr. Project / Program Manager providing structural design, perform peer review, and oversee the project design;required
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
