The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Dermatology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP or PA) Resident interested in specialty training in dermatology. The Training program is a 6-month educational program that offers structured curricula, including didactic and clinical components in the specialty area of Dermatology. The program builds upon the knowledge and experiences gained from professional entry-level education and provides specialty training to advance the competency of advanced practice providers in the dermatology setting. The candidate is expected to stay on in a full-time capacity (following the successful completion of the training program) and work for UI Health Care in Cedar Rapids. Percent of Time:100% for 6 months Salary:$85,000 annual base salary; temporary employee health and dental insurance is also included. Duties:Perform direct patient care in dermatology including diagnostic and therapeutic services as a trainee with physician supervision. Within the APP/Physician relationship, APPs may exercise autonomy in medical decision making and services provided. Assist in educating healthcare students, residents and fellows as they rotate through the respective departments and divisions. Education Required:Must comply with registration and Iowa licensure requirements. Experience Required:Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience and/or training with instructing and counseling patients regarding physical and mental health on matters such as diets, disease, therapy, and normal growth and development is required. Desirable Qualifications:Previous work experience in an advanced practice provider Previous experience in a dermatology clinic. Previous experience working in an academic medical center. |
