The pay listed above is encompassing of a total range, final compensation offered will be dependent upon several factors to include but not limited to years of experience and education within the position and industry.

Scope of Work:

The Roads and Grounds Branch Manager supervises and manages the Maintenance & Services/Roads and Grounds functional sections (Equipment Operations, and Roads & Grounds).

Responsibilities:

  • Directs the Branch with regards to the ordering, receiving, sorting, protection, storage, warehousing, inventorying, issuing of materials and supplies for Branch work.
  • Supervises, directs and coordinates subordinate personnel in all activities related to the planning, programming, operation and maintenance of motorized equipment, post roads and grounds.
  • Schedules and prioritizes tasks and monitors work performance.
  • Resolves technical problems.
  • Plans, implements, and maintains oversight of comprehensive safety and hazardous materials policies with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Ensures that all sections have operational plans for safety, fire prevention, emergency evacuation, accident, response, snow removal and have continuous training on plans(s) implementation.
  • Prepares charts, graphs and narratives as required for briefings, and management review.
  • Consistently produces quality products and service.
  • Completes all training within required timeline.
  • Performs all work in a safe and secure manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited college or university with desirable, but not mandatory. Strong related experience may be substituted.
  • Must demonstrate experience in the management of 30-50 person workforce that is responsible for all aspects of roads grounds maintenance.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to schedule and prioritize tasks and monitor work performance.
  • Experience in the planning, implementation and oversight of comprehensive safety and hazardous materials policies with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • Must show experience in the methods and procedures employed to ensure conformance with requirements.
  • Show knowledge in the preparation of charts, graphs and narratives as required for briefings, and management review.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
  • On a continuous basis must be able to pull, push, lift or carry for 50 feet, sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work.
  • Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain - side hills and slopes.
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
