Job Title: Computer Operations Description: We are seeking a dedicated Computer Operations professional to join our team on the 2nd shift. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our mainframe systems, job scheduling, and batch processing tasks. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with other technicians and computer operators, handling escalation calls from the service desk and ensuring the stability of our operating environments. Training may involve working different shifts until you are fully prepared to work independently. Key Responsibilities: * Monitor and manage all supported platforms, ensuring maximum utilization and stable operating environments. * Operate and oversee console systems and peripheral equipment, including printers and disk devices. * Execute routine technical procedures, such as adding and running ad hoc jobs in the Enterprise Job Scheduler, user administration, disaster recovery exercises, and code promotions. * Handle first-level support calls to assist the Service Desk. * Maintain thorough documentation of all processes and procedures. Proactive Approach: We are looking for a proactive individual who can take initiative without needing constant direction. You will handle escalations from the service desk team, categorized by severity levels: * Severity 1: Immediate escalation to on-call personnel. * Severity 2: Operational action required based on referenced procedures. If unresolved, escalate to Severity 1. * Severity 3: Operational action required based on referenced procedures. No call placed regardless of outcome. * Severity 4: Ticket creation with no further escalation. Required Skills: * Experience with Windows 10, job scheduling, mainframe operations, and batch processing. * Proficiency in Active Directory, computer operations, help desk technical support, Control M, ServiceNow, O365, Azure, virtual machines, and SolarWinds. Top Skills: * Previous help desk support with ticketing system experience (ServiceNow). * Experience with O365, Control M, batch processing, and virtual machines. * Previous computer operations experience with the ability to identify and resolve or escalate specific issues. Shift Needed: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Tuesday - Saturday Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
