DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a confidential Clerical Supervisor 1, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and efficient support for Income Maintenance Caseworker staff by providing leadership, supervision, and direction for the Bucks CAO's clerical unit. You will also be responsible for training and orienting new clerical staff, as well as evaluating, monitoring, and instructing subordinates to ensure the proper processing of assistance benefits using a computer. In this role, you will assign work to subordinates in a fair and equitable manner, address any personnel issues, and make recommendations for appropriate action. Additionally, you will handle the data entry of confidential information and provide administrative support to the Executive Director. It is important for the ideal candidate to have a working knowledge of office equipment and be able to make service calls when needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the office. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • WORK CONDITIONS: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with district offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,785.00 (before taxes)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Clerical Assistant 2; or
  • One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Bucks County. If no eligible candidates who live within Bucks County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
