Role and Responsibilities:


The Meat Room Custodian is responsible for keeping the meat room of the commissary/grocery store clean, safe, and sanitary.



  • Wash and sanitize meat tools like slicers and grinders to keep everything safe.

  • Make sure meat preparation and storage areas are tidy and follow health rules.

  • Get rid of meat scraps properly, following safety rules.

  • Monitor fridges to keep meat at safe temperatures.

  • Refill cleaning products and safety gear for the team.

  • Wash the tools and surfaces used by butchers.

  • Practice good handwashing and sanitation.

  • Talk with the team about cleaning schedules and what supplies are needed.

  • Maintain records of cleaning and sanitation as required.

  • Adhere to cleanliness, safety, and hygiene rules.


Requirements:



  • No experience, No Problem


Physical Demands:



  • Lifting

  • Standing for long periods of time

  • Repetitive bending, twisting, and reaching

  • Pushing or pulling heavy carts and equipment

  • Frequent cleaning and sanitizing tasks (floor, counters, equipment)

  • Reasonable accommodations can be provided


Environmental Demands:



  • Exposure to cold temperatures (meat storage areas may be below freezing)

  • Exposure to strong odors (meat, cleaning chemicals)

  • Wet and slippery floors

  • Noisy environment (due to machinery)

  • Potential exposure to sharp objects (knives, slicers)
