This position requires a unique skill set that includes working with cross-functional teams on complex projects by providing data that drives decisions.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 4:00pm PST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer weeks of on-the-job paid training. The hours during training will be 7:00am - 4:00pm PST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for medical billing, collecting and posting cash
  • Responsible for timely billing of medical claims and ensures appropriate reimbursement
  • Providing timely follow up of claims billed to insurance companies under the medical benefit
  • Educating internal partners on billing requirements to close gap on DSO
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, self-audit for data accuracy, maintain data integrity, and delivering accurate reports/dashboards on-time
  • Researching and resolving problems before, during and after calls within a high volume, demanding environment

Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • Proficiency with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate multiple programs and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to multi-task and to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week), during our normal business hours of 7:00am - 4:00pm PST, including the flexibility to work occasional overtime, based on the business need



Preferred Qualifications:



  • 1+ years of experience in a related environment (i.e., office, administrative, clerical, customer service, etc.) using phones and computers as the primary job tools
  • Experience in billing OR collections



Telecommuting Requirements:



  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

The hourly range for this role is $16.88 to $33.22 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
