General Notes

This position is fixed term, and the expected end date is August 31, 2025, with the possibility of the renewal and the extension of the appointment depending on funding and performance.

Purpose

Reporting to the Data and Research Specialist at IPSI, the Data Analyst will be responsible for managing the collection, analysis, and reporting of GEAR UP cohort data and ensuring proper validation and quality control. The position will be required to train and support GEAR UP staff, as needed, in the use of the data system.

Responsibilities
  • Request and maintain accurate data entry records, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary. In collaboration with the evaluation partner, develop data management structures and processes, analyze and interpret data including selection and application of statistical methods. Effectively disseminate findings by formulating and presenting reports of results including graphical displays. Monitor progress made toward grant goals and student benchmarks and share outcomes from project activities on an ongoing basis.

  • Validate and audit submitted data and run quality control reports on a regular basis. Respond to data requests from GEAR UP program staff by creating or running web-based data reports.

  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to data system users related to account access, site navigation, and data entry issues.

  • Deliver in-person and online trainings on data collection, reporting, and navigating the data collection platform.

  • Prepare and submit data requests to the National Student Clearinghouse, and analyze report results.

  • Create value-added survey instruments and customized reports for IPSI, partner districts, and others.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in relevant field and experience in data analysis/reporting, research administration or a related field. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to successfully manage multiple deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members. Strong computer skills and experience working with databases and statistical software (e.g., Python or SPSS). Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word programs

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree and 3+ years of related experience. Experience working with data/evaluation of federal grant projects. Experience working with custom databases. Familiarity with Google Studio as well as survey tools (e.g. Qualtrics, Survey Monkey).

Salary Range

$ 62,128 + depending on qualifications
