In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state The Tennessee Department of Correction operates safe and secure prisons and provides effective community supervision in order to enhance public safety. Job overview: The Institutional Investigator position is assigned to the Office of Investigation and Conducts (OIC) Investigations Unit (IU) and is assigned to the Northwest Correctional Complex. Under the direction of the regional Special Agent in Charge, the Institutional Investigator is responsible for conducting investigations as required at their respective facility related to offenses relative to or affecting the Department of Correction. They may also assist in other criminal investigations, pursuit and apprehension of offenders, and other duties as assigned by the OIC Director.
