We are looking for aWelderto join the Resolution Copper Underground Operations and Maintenance Group, which is responsible for the safe maintenance and operation of the existing physical assets, consisting of a deep shaft, multiple mine levels and associated equipment and infrastructure.

Reporting to theUnderground Operations and Maintenance Supervisor and working in a collaborative community, within the Operations & Maintenance department, you will be:

What you'll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Welding Certifications
  • 5+ years of welding experience, with an emphasis on operations and maintenance
  • Ability to pass FCAW 3G, 4G and 6G certified SMAW. Knowledge of GTAW Aluminum. Knowledge of air arc.
  • In-depth knowledge of oxy/fuel operations, welding processes, shop machinery, and repair procedures for welding discontinuities.
  • Ability to identify weld discontinuities and apply basic repair procedures to ensure high-quality welds. Intermediate-level knowledge of welding techniques to meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, tolerance for gaps, holes, distortion control, camber, sweep, connections, splices, and cord length. Ability to identify weld discontinuities and in-depth knowledge of repair processes. In-depth knowledge of weld procedure specifications and weld symbols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Basic knowledge/understanding of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of MSHA, OSHA and ASMI regulations

Where you'll be working

Once in operation, Resolution Copper has the potential to supply nearly 25% of US copper demand and create several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the Pioneer Mining District of Arizona, with an economic value estimated at several billion dollars over the mine life.

The project will rely on a block caving technique to extract the deposit that lies more than 2,000 meters below the surface. This method uses gravity to remove the ore and is the most viable way to recover the resource.
