This position is contingent on contract award.

Summary

Provides technical expertise for the testing, verification, and validation total training systems solutions used in military flight and maintenance training systems. Participates in all phases of system design, including requirements definition SMEs for their application. Conducts mission environment testing. Leads all test efforts, system tests, acceptance tests, configuration, scheduling, and customer interface. Collaborates with Engineering and Device Modification Teams on test plans, conduct tests, document results, and ensure discrepancy resolution.

  • Commands a clear understanding of all requirements and how they relate to operational training to ensure the device will fulfill the training needs

  • Ensures that all functional areas are responsive to the allocation of requirements for the assigned project

  • Develops a verification and validation plan for projects. Will provide expertise to minimize defects during the production of the trainers

  • Act as Test Director and Project SME for assigned projects.

  • Coordinates test schedules with Modification Teams for baseline, contractor verification, and government acceptance testing events.

  • Manages C-17 TS Additional Duty Test resources/availability.

  • Supports all applicable product/modification development meetings such as Program Kick Off, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Test Plan Working Group, Test Readiness Review, and others.

  • Prepares slides/products for applicable meetings. Presents information to customer as directed by C-17 TS Modification/Change Management Program Manager. (Author, coordinate, and lead presentations of formal reviews with customers as required by assigned project)

  • Assists in the development of Training Needs Analyses for assigned projects

  • Participates in the development of different levels of products against training requirements for assigned projects

  • Supports site SIMCERT events via plot reviews and as a SME on any problems.

  • Provides operational military aviation expertise during subjective and objective evaluations of training devices

  • Must be physically able to enter simulator, experience simulator motion and take cognizance of attendees' safety when on board the simulator.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Applicants can have an Engineering or a Pilot Background.

Qualified Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable Engineering/Technical discipline.

  • 5 years' experience in simulation industry.

  • Very experienced in C-17 training devices, aircraft/simulator systems, Tech Orders, AFI training requirements

  • PC proficiency with MS Office software

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

  • Available to work weekends on a regular basis

Qualified C-17 Pilot Instructor

  • Meets C-17 Pilot Instructor Requirements to include: 1) Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited school, 2) 8 years flying experience, 5 years military flying experience with at least 2 years or 200 hours experience as an in-flight instructor in the C-17 and associated mission set, 3) C-17 Instructor experience within 5 years of hiring date.

  • Very Experienced in C-17 training devices, aircraft/simulator systems, Tech Orders, AFI training requirements.

  • Able to complete items specified in C-17 Training System, FA8621-R-24-B002, Basic Section J, Attachment 17 Personnel Qualifications (para 1.5.2) prior to qualifying as a CCAI. New hire Pilot Instructors will also meet para 1.5.3 Basic Aircrew Tactics Studies requirements.

  • PC proficiency with MS Office software

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

  • Available to work weekends on a regular basis

Language/Mathematical/reasoning Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex word and technical documents/diagrams.

  • Must be able to calculate figures and amounts and to draw and interpret graphs.

  • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is essential.

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Significant domestic and international travel is required.
