BACKGROUND

KAGR (Kraft Analytics Group) is a progressive technology and service company providing data management, advanced analytics, and consulting services for the sports and entertainment industries and industry leader in this space. As the business growth scales, KAGR is looking for a technical executive to drive the delivery of client data platform solutions and to provide ongoing leadership for product evolution. SUMMARY

The Principal Architect will be responsible for the architecture, design, and influence of the technical strategy of the KAGR Platform across cloud infrastructure, data movement, and software. They will collaborate cross functionally to ensure KAGR's business and technical architecture are aligned and support the scalable and efficient operation of the Platform.

They will help lead the product engineering teams responsible for the design, build, security, and operations of the KAGR data platform. This role will work with product management and help the engineering teams translate the architecture and design for the work product that the teams execute and deliver to our clients.

Additionally, they will work cross functionally across the organization to enable the company's engineering culture, improve engineering processes, and help identify and create solutions to scale the team to ensure the quality of product we deliver to our customers. This role will also partner with product management to ensure the platform supports the current and future needs of our customers and the VP of Product and Technology to ensure that the platform continues to be a market leader.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Leadership

    • Lead, develop, oversee, and drive the execution of the technical architecture of the KAGR platform.
    • Work closely with platform delivery leadership team to ensure initiatives to grow and scale the KAGR Platform provide synergy between business processes and technical architecture and capabilities.
    • Partners with engineering teams, providing technical leadership and guidance that focus on the development, innovation, and execution of the KAGR data platform focused on scalability
    • Persuade and influence others without using formal authority.
    • Lead and mentor engineers and architects.
    • Promote a positive, collaborative and results oriented work environment.
    • Responsible for directly or indirectly driving the execution of 1-2 scrum teams.


  2. Architectural and Engineering Excellence

    • Work closely with VP of Product and Technology to develop and enhance KAGR's engineering culture, setting engineering standards for the organization
    • Lead and mentor engineers in translating system architecture and design, individually contributing patterns and frameworks as needed.
    • Influence and help define best practices in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
    • Derive value from various data sources and formats leveraging advanced experience in cloud-based platforms.
    • Promote culture of software/technology-based solutions over bespoke services
    • Promote culture of data security and ensure security posture of the platform
    • Promote DevOps culture across teams


  3. Performance Measurement and Impact Reporting

    • Develop and maintain achievement with KPIs for health and performance of the platform and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
    • Develop and maintain technical and non-technical processes for tracking overall Platform costs and provide the ability for reporting on a per client basis.


  4. Special projects and assignments as business dictates
  5. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS




  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, or relevant experience in a technology discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in software, data, and cloud architecture and engineering.
  • 5+ years in a technical lead role.
  • Proven track record of developing mature product capabilities with scalable and extensible architectures.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices with large scale cloud services.
  • Experience developing products that comply with industry standard compliance and security standards.
  • Strong experience in using AWS, Azure or GCP, applicable AWS/Azure/GCP cloud certification a plus.
  • Strong experience with Python, Java, C#, or other programming languages.
  • Expert in integrating data from many disparate systems.
  • Expert in SQL, both querying and administering database systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand language.
  • Experience interacting with management, presenting, and acting in a professional manner, and managing multiple projects at once.
  • Must be team-oriented and coachable.
  • Must have attention to detail and focused concentration
  • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and responsiveness.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
