Maintenance Mechanic oversees the electrical technicalities on equipment and machinery. This position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment to support production requirements and goals. Equipment may include: dryers, chillers, thermal oxidizer, HVAC, fire pump, mixers, mills, filling line equipment, conveyors, wrappers, tanks, motors, pumps, tank washers, tank tipper, as well as dock and building maintenance etc. This position performs various maintenance tasks as assigned and is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and productive working environment.

12-Hour Rotating Schedule: 6:00AM - 6:30PM 36 // 48

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised.   • Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and make program changes to programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and variable frequency drives (VFDs) on equipment and machines.
  • Read and interpret ladder logic diagrams.
  • Read blueprints and wiring diagrams and create/update electrical schematics/diagrams as required.
  • Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and install 480 volt/277, 240/120 and AC DC volt circuits, motor controls, control logic, and power wiring.
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as multi meters and insulation tester (megger)
  • Make new major installations and repairs as well as perform general maintenance and repairs.
  • May direct work of other maintenance employees.
  • Participate in the development of Standard Operating Procedures for equipment and maintenance tasks
  • Record information required for Work Order closure time-spent on task, details on the work performed, additional work required and parts that were use
  • Perform Maintenance Mechanic responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintains distribution equipment in good operating condition while optimizing equipment uptime to insure the safe and timely manufacture of quality coatings.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance tasks in a timely manner to insure operation of all equipment, in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Report unsafe conditions using STOP or SMART cards.
  • Operates shop tools, equipment, and as many machines related to maintenance as skill level will permit
  • Assists in electrical projects and performs minor electrical repairs
  • Checks and refills lubricant reservoirs, applies grease to lubricant points, inspects machinery while performing scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Performs certain portions of repairs to power industrial equipment, assists in rebuilding of related equipment


Minimum Requirements:



  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have Post-secondary/technical degreeor electrical certifications
  • Must have two (2) years of work experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment
  • Must have one (1) year of maintenance experience applying electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts
  • Must have experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and motor controls
  • Must have experience troubleshooting electrical circuits in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have experience reading and interpret blueprints and shop drawings



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)
  • Have at least formal training in or at least one (1) year of work experience implementing Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
