Job Summary

The PRHE Project Coordinator for the Communications, Science & Policy Team, part of UCSF's Program on
Reproductive Health and the Environment, will play a key role in advancing research translation in reproductive
environmental health. Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations & Development, this position supports
and leads all aspects of the program's communications efforts, including managing external communications for
PRHE and the EaRTH Center. The Project Coordinator will review, refine and make recommendations regarding
materials for public distribution, support social media strategies, and collaborate with consultants to create
content for newsletters, reports, and website updates. This position will ensure consistency in messaging, assist
in the development of communications plans, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
In addition to communications, the Project Coordinator will provide and lead critical project management actions
to the Science & Policy Team, including tracking progress on initiatives, managing timelines, and serving as the
logistical lead administrator/point of contact regarding meetings with internal and external partners. This role
will also assist in organizing budgets, monitoring contracts, and ensuring alignment between science, policy, and
communication goals. A successful candidate will excel in managing multiple priorities and demonstrate strong
written and verbal communication skills to engage both scientific and non-scientific audiences. A commitment to
public health advocacy, attention to detail, and organizational abilities are critical in this role.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $79,000 - $127,200 (Annual Rate).

Department Description

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences (Ob, Gyn & RS) is a major academic Department in the School of Medicine, engaged in clinical, research and training activities at the Parnassus, Mt. Zion, San Francisco General Hospital campuses, the Betty Irene Moore Women's Hospital at Mission Bay, as well as satellite locations throughout the Bay Area, with an annual operating budget of $150 million. Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in video production, filmmaking, art, history, public health, media, publicpolicy, journalism, design, marketing, communications, or related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Minimum 3+ years directly relevant experience
  • Knowledge of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applications
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical applications to effectively direct technical staff, or personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applications
  • Knowledge of the organization, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and a strong knowledge of current affairs, and issues in higher education and / or health sciences
  • Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and short term strategic communications plans
  • Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and / or broad general audiences
  • Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills
  • Knowledge of location protocols and channels for communication internally and externally
  • Possess a level of creativity and a willingness to try different solutions to solve problems or advance the work, technological or otherwise

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with social media and usage in a professional/academic setting
  • Understand and have proficiency in technological tools such as Asana, EndNote, and other project management tools
