Nurse Practitioner Cardiology Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiology Full Time 83541BR Job Summary The Cardiology Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider NP has clinical, procedural, administrative, and educational responsibilities in the care of adult patients requiring assessment, diagnosis, management, and treatment in the critical care setting. Under the supervision of the Chief of Cardiology Critical Care and the Heart & Vascular Director of Advanced Practice Providers, the Cardiology Intensive Care NP will have a critical role in the inpatient setting, with both team member and individual duties. These responsibilities will include examination and assessment, diagnosis, and planning; treatment implementation, coordination, and continuity; performance of specific procedures; development of practice protocols and evaluation of quality of care; education of patients, families and other health care practitioners. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $95.73 - $130.31 (Hourly Rate). To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: https://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/index.html Required Qualifications NP 1 A minimum of 5 years cardiovascular ICU nursing experience Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to successfully perform the duties of the assigned position Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations and in varying schedules as outlined Flexibility to work across all UCSF campuses, UCSF affiliates and UCSF Faculty Practice patient care locations NP 2 A minimum of 6 months of inpatient general surgery, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, cardiovascular, or critical care ICU NP experience Possess the skills, knowledge, and abilities essential to successfully perform the duties of the assigned position Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations and in varying schedules as outlined Flexibility to work across all UCSF campuses, UCSF affiliates and UCSF Faculty Practice patient care locations Preferred Qualifications Prior experience with point of care ultrasound Prior experience with line insertion Prior experience with MCS patient population Prior experience in an academic setting License/Certification California driver's license (CDL) if required for position. Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work. Accepted Certifications for this position: ACNP-BC, AGACNP-BC, ACNPC-BC, ACNPC-AG, ACNPC Current and active RN and NP and Furnishing license in California. Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner. Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license with schedules 2-5 to a California address and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer). Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments. Current AHA BLS. Current AHA ACLS. State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice. Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1. UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days but can vary.
