JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Continuous Improvement Process Engineer Position: Full Time, Exempt Location: Elizabethtown, KY Manager: No Reports to: VP of Operations SUMMARY OF ROLE Lead and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) culture throughout the organization while being responsible for the identification, prioritization, and implementation of CI projects and training. Develop sustainable improvements through engagement of a team-based servant leadership approach, strong technical knowledge, and proper use of continuous improvement tools. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible at all times for promoting a safety culture and safety awareness within their area of responsibility
- Support and enforce all plant safety policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
- The job will require extensive Travel to several operations in the Eastern US working with plant CI and operations teams to evaluate, develop and implement facilities and work cell CI projects
- Under the guidance from the Managing Director and working with other members of the Westfall CI Team chartering new continuous improvement projects
- Review process value stream mapping and recommend staffing levels, materials, machines, methods and performance metrics (measurements) to ensure an effective operation
- Identify and champion opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvements, etc
- Fairly and consistently adhere to all Company and Plant procedures, work rules and guidelines
- Work with Operations to build training content and organize training sessions as needed
- Work with outside technical vendors to develop and source possible automation or material conveyance equipment required to improve processes. Including the sending and evaluating of RFQ's'
- Communicate methods, changes, scheduling, etc. as appropriate and required cross-functionally throughout the organization
- May be required to support the operation outside of assigned shift hours or on weekends as needed
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
- Prior experience in continuous improvement initiatives a plus
- Must have strong technical skills in tooling, processing, automation and/or machines
- Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
Excellent communications skills - ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media - verbal, written, etc. - Excellent organizational/time management skills
- Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment, calm under pressure and flexibility to direct work force and adapt to changing schedules as appropriate
- Strong computer skills a plus (IQMS, Epicor and MS Office Suite)
- Strong knowledge of production operation, including equipment, materials, workflow, etc.
- Knowledge of Total Quality Systems

- Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs infrequently
WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is usually in an indoor concrete floored precision machining shop. General noise level can fluctuate from medium to high on a constant basis.
