Shifts Available:

  • Weekends7:00am-7:00pm

AsanMRI Technologist,you will perform diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations according to established imaging protocols.Providesefficient and effective patient care in high-quality diagnostic MRI examinations. Provides high customer service, performing consistent with Hospital organization values.

Primary Duties:

  • Conducts patient interviews toidentifycontraindicated implants, foreignbodies,and other medical conditionsonconcern.Identifiesand performsappropriate examinationsbased on patient history.

  • Verifies prescription and protocol. Usesappropriate imagingparameters. Injects contrast based on patient weight after verifying the patient's renal function status. Verifies image quality prior to ending the examination.

  • Appropriately documents examination. Verifies the examinations is correct in both Cerner, PACS,PenRadandDynaCAD(when applicable).Assistsin organizing andmaintaininginventory of supplies. Ensures the work area ismaintainedat a high state of cleanliness.

  • Promptly preparesfilmsand CDs upon request.Assistswith protocol development and implementation.Assistswith the training of new personnel and Radiology School studentsregardingprocedures, imaging protocols and department policy.

  • Collects quality control data formanagers, such as film usage, equipment problems, etc. Completes all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, examination, and other necessary functions.

Qualifications:

  • Associate'sdegreeor oneto three years, with formal training in an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

  • Job-related experienceor Successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program. This will be waived forMedStar Washington Hospital CenterRadiology Schoolstudentsthat have rotated to MRI.

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology)MRIor ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists)within 1 Year.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support).

This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52
