C-130 ATS Subject Matter Expert (SME) Flight Engineer

About This Role

Summary

Courseware SME position providing knowledge and material for C-130 aircrew training production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Designs, creates, and updates courseware for C-130H flight crews.
  • Develops lesson and course exams daily within a Learning Content Management System(s)
  • Reviews lesson materials to ensure technical accuracy, standards, compliance and effective presentation.
  • Provides training, orientation and assistance to newly hired personnel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Currency as a Flight Engineer in C-130 aircraft within previous 6 years
  • At least 8 years flying experience and minimum of 700 total hours with 2 years or 200 hours experience as a flight instructor in the MDS.
  • Experience in aircraft systems, operational and emergency procedures, checklists procedures, computing TOLD data, troubleshooting, crew resource management, tactical operations, instruments, aircraft forms, and other policies/procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in English.
  • Reading and Math skills to interpret, extract, and build courseware from Technical publications, Instructions, Manuals, graphs, and other documentation provided.
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate with Instructional System Design (ISD), instructor and customer team members.
  • Working knowledge of all appropriate current MAJCOM regulations.
  • Previously qualified in Night Vision Goggles.
  • Working computer knowledge utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required
  • Applicant will be subject to a US Government investigation for access to classified information and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain/maintain the required security clearance level

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in courseware development using a Learning Content Management System (LCMS) and a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Previous Flight/Aircrew Training Device (ATD) Instructor experience.

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Work in a regular office environment; communicate via personal computer, telephone and fax.
  • Domestic and international travel as required.
