Job Title: Catastrophe Analyst

Division: Exposure Management; General Management

Reports To: As per Beazley's organisation chart

Key Relationships: NACP and E&S Homeowners Underwriters, Underwriting Assistants, Exposure Management Team

Job Summary: To provide underwriting support to the NACP & E&S Homeowners underwriting teams, specifically catastrophe modelling and pricing of risks, and capture of exposure data for bound risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleanse scheduled location and exposure data, then import or enter into RMS interface in accordance with team procedures
  • Liaise with external service provider and update File Transfer Protocol (FTP) site with schedules that require cleansing & downloading cleansed schedules
  • Obtain highest acceptable level of geocoding per risk using available tools & resources
  • Supply the above information to Underwriters and Underwriting Assistants during quoting
  • Quality control of risks entered in RMS interface
  • Liaise with US Property Underwriting Teams
  • Interact with Exposure Management Team.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups.

Education & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma

Skills & Abilities

  • Accurate and numerate with attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills - Excel, Access
  • Experience using RMS RiskBrowser and/or RMS Intelligent Risk Platform
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage own time and prioritise work

Knowledge & Experience

  • Insurance knowledge, Excess & Surplus Lines preferable
  • Knowledge of Catastrophe modelling & data requirements

Salary for this role will be tailored to the successful individual's location and experience. The expected compensation range for this position is $50,000-54,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus. You will be able to discuss your salary expectations should you be contacted about this role.
