Description
Our Production Supervisor supports Mativ's FAM Industrial Netting business. This individual will directly supervise one of four shifts in our Athens facility. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment, leading crews to produce product that meets standards for quality and productivity and effectively managing the workforce.
The shift schedule is 7:45PM - 8AM, working a 2-2-3 schedule.
responsibilities:
- Accomplishes results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Is a champion of the company safety and employee engagement programs and adheres to all appropriate safety policies and procedures in the course of directing employees and seeks opportunities to improve safe work practices.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintains staff by participating in recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Sustains performance using Leader Standard Work
- Employs best practices using Lean Manufacturing principles such as Visual Management, Gemba Walks, Kaizen events, workflow studies, 5 Why's, Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement.
- Acts as an advocate of your team, removing roadblocks, using effective coaching and collaboration with your own staff of direct reports as well as other leaders within the facility.
- Practices excellent communication skills during the shift as well as daily shift changeover meetings.
- Active participation out on the floor assisting and coaching your team on ways to improve.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting of daily production results.
- Maintains quality production by understanding and enforcing organization standards for quality and technical specifications.
- Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
- Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
- Maintain all payroll, PTO requests, overtime coverage, reporting, annual reviews and required company training
- Additional duties as assigned
qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent work experience in the Mativ manufacturing process or a similar process from another firm may be considered in lieu of educational background.
- Minimum 3 years previous supervisory experience in manufacturing environment
Preferred
- Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing knowledge a plus
Competencies
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Track record of successful team building and management
- Must have experience in continuous improvement practices and analysis.
