County Social Services Aide 1 (Local Government) - Washington County C&Y (Multiple Vacancies)

As a Social Services Aide I, you will provide a variety of services and support for the smooth operation of the Washington County Children & Youth Department.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Transportation - scheduling, planning and transporting children, parents and/or families to court hearings, parenting/placements or appointments
• Visitation - scheduling, planning and supervising parent child visitation
• General Services - assisting and supporting agency casework staff in the delivery of mandated, court ordered and/or planned services
• Record Maintenance - maintaining reports and case records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
• The position will automatically progress to a County Social Services Aide 2 after completion of one year of service at an hourly rate of $19.47 per hr. ($37,966.50/yr).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Graduation from high school; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
