The Impact You Will Have

As the Principal Employee Relations Partner you will use your knowledge of HR, employment law, and business to ensure our associates and our environment reflect our values. The ER Specialist is responsible for setting the ER strategy across the organization and for managing and tracking highly complex employee relations issues and preventing employee relations issues across the organization. This role investigates allegations including developing and implementing an investigative plan, documenting, reviewing, and drafting supporting documentation. The ER Specialist also provides insight to implement both immediate resolution and long-term prevention plans. This role is responsible for policy interpretation, information gathering, and resolution of issues. You will work closely with both internal and external counsel to consult on cases. You will also sit on our Threat Assessment Team (TAT) working with partners across the organization including security, IT and Legal. In addition, the ER Specialist manages incoming compliance hotline issues and updates HR Policies and processes, partnering with the HRBPs and the CHRO to ensure policies are updated and current.

Your Responsibilities

  • Serves as the point of contact for employee relations, conduct, and/or compliance concerns raised by associates.

  • Interviews employees to gather information to facilitate resolution of the concern. Assesses the nature and severity of the complaint and either provides coaching resources or conducts and investigation. Partners with Legal, HRBPs, managers, and other key stakeholders to conduct a complete and impartial investigation.

  • Ensure recommendations are in alignment with company policies and practices. Provides summary findings to key stakeholders.

  • Partners with HRBPs on performance issues raised by leaders. Confers with HRBP to provide support and recommendation on how to manage situations. Reviews all performance documentation before it is delivered to ensure consistency and completeness.

  • Logs cases in tracking system. Analyzes employee relations case trends and in partnership with Human Resources Business Partners/legal. Recommends and develops strategies to avoid employee relations risk.

  • Provides workplace-related recommendations/insights directly related to an investigation in accordance with company policy and practice. Provides counsel and guidance to leadership and staff regarding employee relations issues.

  • Participates in key ER projects and/or cross-functional team initiatives.

  • Manages and updates HR policies and processes.

  • Builds strong partnerships with compliance, legal, HR, security and other partners to foster trust and accountability.

  • Remains current with new, evolving ER challenges across a variety of processes and proactively recommends solutions to manage them. Review internal processes and make recommendations for improvements; drive solutions that are compliant while supporting business objectives and goals.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.

  • Demonstrated ability to proactively collaborate across boundaries, influence to resolve issues, motivate change, and partner across the company to implement solutions and achieve desired results.

  • Works independently or with cross-functional teams to prioritize, manage and investigate allegations in a fair, thorough and timely manner, and provides guidance to colleagues on the handling of investigations.

  • Capacity to demonstrate excellent judgment and adhere to strict confidentiality requirements.

  • Proven ability to independently manage and complete tasks with multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines.

  • Exhibit excellent organizational, written, verbal and analytical skills.

  • Experience in handling complex employee relations issues and conducting investigations.

  • Demonstrated sound decision-making ability and conflict resolution.

  • Maintains good communication and positive relationships with employees to promote employee satisfaction.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Prior experience as an HR Business partner and/or legal background PHR/SPHR.


Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00 - $170,000.00 Annual

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
