About the Team/Role:
As a Debtor Credit Analyst at WEX, you will provide analysis and interpretation of the customers' and/or merchants' financial status for proper evaluation of risk and the establishment of proper credit limits. You will interact with sales support, customer service, and accounts receivable in reconciling accounts. Prepare recommendations and makes credit approval decisions on new accounts. Analyze and report on credit memo and write-off activity, and monitor and communicate credit concerns to management. This job is not for those responsible for placing routine calls to customers for collection of past due accounts. This role is focused on policy decisions and judgments regarding credit offers.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Approve/decline credit requests within personal authority.

  • Handles the day-to-day Cadence credit queue workflows.

  • Handles the day-to-day Sales credit requests. Prepares the credit package for review by the appropriate approver.

  • Assign Overall Risk Grades and adjust Credit Limits as necessary.

  • Access various credit reporting tools, be able to interpret the reported credit information and translate the findings into a cogent credit request.

  • Review daily Ansonia alerts and evaluate debtors on the alerts report. Escalate as appropriate.

  • Monitor higher-risk debtors through Carrier411, and review the alerts as they come in. Escalate as appropriate to senior credit analysts.

  • Review DNBi Alerts and escalate as appropriate to senior credit analysts.

  • Monthly review of top 20 riskiest debtors via Ansonia High Risk report. Escalate any issues or concerns to senior credit analyst and to Collections.

  • Add new debtors into Cadence and fill out the credit info tab.

  • Prepare financial performance quarterly reviews for all 5, 6, and 7 rated debtors, and our top 20 debtors based on balance.

  • Review High Risk Industry Specific Debtors on a Quarterly basis.

  • Review top concentrated debtors on a Quarterly basis.

  • Create reports regularly surrounding the credit performance of the debtor portfolio.

  • Proactive at managing personal workflow.

  • Assist with operational functions in Client Underwriting.

  • Utilize commercial and consumer credit reports and data to make complex credit decisions relative to credit applications, credit, line increases and other risk related requests in accordance with approved credit policy and established procedures.

  • Assist with junior CA duties as needed.

  • Establish and maintain high customer service standards.

Experience you'll bring:

  • Acceptable computer skills with standard Windows operating systems, Salesforce, Google Suite products, and Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk on mid-sized to large accounts.

  • Demonstrated accuracy & completeness in preparing & processing complex Risk Approval Worksheets that clearly recommend the action to be taken while highlighting the basis for the recommendation or decision.

  • Established skill interpreting commercial & consumer credit reports & data and using that information to make complex credit decisions.

  • Proficient at setting risk grades, utilizing data sources and mitigating factors.

  • Bachelor degree required, or 1-3 years relevant factoring experience.

  • Clear, concise writing and communication skills required.

  • Accurately and consistently evaluates complex messages and responds appropriately to all issues and concerns in message.

  • Ability to comfortably communicate in multiple mediums.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
