Job Announcement

Works within our Support Coordination Division as a dynamic leader to provide direction to a team of experienced, dedicated developmental disability professionals, providing them with leadership, clinical and administrative supervision, technical assistance and support. Works with the service director and the support coordination leadership team to plan, develop and direct support coordination services for a broad population with an intellectual or developmental disability. Must be highly organized, and able to adapt to a changing work environment and stay abreast of multiple new initiatives and mandates. Provides proactive senior management and leadership across the Developmental Disability Services department, manages special projects, and ensures the implementation of all mandated policies and strategic initiatives. Represents the agency on CSB, county, regional and/or state committees and work groups.

  • The population of Fairfax County is very diverse where 38.7% of residents speak a language other than English at home (Spanish, Asian/Pacific Islander, Indo-European, and others) and CSB recognizes that staff competence speaking a variety of languages is necessary to meet client needs.   • The CSB provides clinical supervision for employees who are registered as licensed eligible mental health in one of the following areas: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • In addition, to recognize and reinforce the importance of professional development and enhance future recruitment of licensed professionals, if approved, the licensure supervisors will receive a stipend of $1,500 paid out biweekly over a 12-month period for one or more Department of Health licensure candidates.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field; plus seven years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
or bachelor's degree and a valid Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP) certification plus seven years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Masters can be substituted for 1 year of experience; or graduation from an accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

  • First Aid and CPR certification within the required within 3 months of hire and maintained throughout CSB employment.
  • Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) or Qualified Intellectual Disability Case Manager (QIDCM)
    certification required within 1 month of hire
  • Qualified Mental Retardation Case Manager (QMRCM)

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a Child Protective Services Registry check, and sanction screening to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter. Eligibility to provide services that can be reimbursed by Medicaid in accordance with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services' requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in psychology, education, social work or related field.
  • Experience with and knowledge of intellectual disabilities.
  • At least five years of experience working with persons who have intellectual or related developmental disabilities.
  • Previous experience supervising a team of human service professionals.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Extensive experience and understanding of Medicaid, Medicaid waivers, and the complex functions of the CSB in the Medicaid Waiver system.
  • Experience supervising a team of case management professionals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employee may be required to lift up to 15 lbs. Must be able to operate keyboard driven equipment, must communicate with others. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:
Panel Interview and may include a practical exercise.
