Description

Role Summary:

As a Research Translation Strategist in IQ Solutions' Health Communications team, your responsibilities will be grounded in leveraging insights from research and available data to support the planning and implementation of communications strategies and tactics, including outreach to consumers and professionals and development of related products and campaigns and programs for diverse audiences, as well as media outreach and development of corresponding messages and materials. You are part strategist, part practitioner ('a do-er').

What will you be engaged in day-to-day?

  • Researching and developing communications materials for key audiences (consumers, professionals, health care providers, researchers) based on peer-reviewed research. This may include health education materials, clinician outreach materials, eblasts, social media content, print and web content, media pitches, presentations, and ads.
  • Closely collaborating with IQS' research team and data analytics team to apply audience research and analytics to communications activities.
  • Preparing key strategy documents for the client, including communications plans, workplans, and editorial calendars. Drafting informal strategy guidance for the client.
  • Researching potential collaborator organizations and conducting outreach to support partnerships and promote increased reach and engagement with key audiences.
  • Identifying, implementing, and owning processes and procedures that streamline and improve the overall experience for clients and colleagues.
  • Oversee the work of other communications professionals or individuals supporting a project.
Requirements

What qualifications will help you succeed?

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, marketing, health communications, or related fields, plus a minimum of ten years of relevant work experience. Formal education in research, science communications, or public health strongly preferred.
  • A robust understanding of social determinants of health and the ways in which systems impact individuals' and families' health and well-being.
  • Experience engaging researchers and knowledge about the lifecycle of scientific research.
  • Ability to parse health-related scientific research, identify key points and implications for communication, and translate main ideas into plain language products for different audiences.
  • Experience working in an agency environment on federal Government projects preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects from conception to completion with excellent time management and proactive communication.
  • Experience leading in a collaborative team environment, thinking creatively, and flexibility with changing requirements and conditions.
  • Strong client relations skills, leading to high client satisfaction.
  • Comfort with learning new systems and tools.
  • Commitment to continuous learning; setting and pursuing stretch goals.

There are many factors that influence our total compensation packages including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, years of applicable work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. At IQ Solutions, our total compensation package is inclusive of comprehensive benefits for full-time staff which include healthcare, wellness, financial, retirement, family support, continuing education, and paid time off. The estimated pay range for this position is: $90,000/year in our lowest geographic market to $105,000/year in our highest geographic market, annually. Elements of our total compensation package are also based on an employee's performance in their role as well as the company meeting its annual organizational goals.
