Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree. Must have Tomahawk and Fire Control Technician.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Payload Control System Program Technician

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Payload Control System (PCS) program to support integration and testing. The ideal candidate will have a background as a former Fire Control Technician (FT) with expertise in Tomahawk operations. This role will involve working on advanced payload control systems, ensuring they meet rigorous standards and operational requirements. Job involves work at both the GD-MS Manassas facility and LM Manassas integration facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize extensive knowledge of Submarine Fire Control systems to support the Payload Control System program.
  • Apply expertise in Tomahawk operations to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and troubleshoot payload control systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during system integration and testing phases.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system issues as they arise.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system specifications, testing procedures, and results.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system functionality and performance.
  • Show initiative and exercise judgment in analyzing, troubleshooting, and providing technical skills during product development.
  • Support other team members concerning experiment design, materials, equipment setup/maintenance, and related issues.

Basic Requirements:

  • Former Fire Control Technician (FT) with relevant experience.
  • Proven experience with Tomahawk operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with DOORs (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System).
  • Previous test experience in a similar field.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • A degree in a related technical field is preferred but not mandatory, depending on experience.
  • Demonstrate narrowly focused in-depth technical level of practical operational process knowledge in a specific engineering area.
  • Demonstrate technical competence in the setup, monitoring, and documentation of experiments and/or lab equipment.
