The Application Engineer at GuidePoint Security will work on the cutting edge of Information Technology and Information Security. They should have a strong interest/capability in creating user information solutions by designing, developing, and maintaining Internet/intranet applications, automating processes using existing technologies, developing new technologies, and integrating disparate systems.

Roles and Responsibilities



  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

    • Define application and integration solutions by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality and gaining user acceptance through detailed acceptance criteria.
    • Ability to own applications responsible for to drive innovation and results.


  • Document process and data mappings to provide clear definition for solutions.

    • Develop applications and interfaces by coordinating cross-functional requirements, schedules, and activities, contributing to team meetings, testing and troubleshooting development and production issues across multiple environments and operating platforms.
    • Drive simplicity in design to support highly configurable, scalable and reliable solutions.


  • Provide development and support assistance to ensure applications and interfaces are functional, effective and available.

    • Demonstrate ability to provide exceptional customer service to the GuidePoint user base including developing documentation and training content.


  • Take accountability for the platforms and functionality being delivered including delivering on all scheduled project and release tasks, enhancements, and support requests.

    • Adhere to standards and IT best practices, including but not limited to system, design, operational effectiveness, installation, and security.
    • Maintain job knowledge by researching new technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.


  • Be willing to accept changes in the organization and adapt to changes through learning and communication.
  • Communicate progress, challenges and issues to management in an effective, consistent and timely manner.

    • Provide after-hours support as required.
    • Other duties as assigned.




Position Requirements



  • Experience with administering and enhancing SaaS applications such as Salesforce
  • Experience developing interfaces to existing applications using REST APIs
  • Experience with middleware integration tools such as Workato
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA


Educational & Professional Credentials



  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, another relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of development and integration experience
  • Applicable certifications are a plus


Travel & Office Location



  • Approximately 10% out-of-town travel to regional offices and/or data centers
  • Work remotely or at the regional office when not traveling
