Overview

Summary:

The Executive Director, Thought Leader Engagement, will lead the strategic vision and execution of initiatives that elevate Pacira's educational platforms, expand Key Opinion Leader (KOL) partnerships, and enhance the value proposition of the Pacira portfolio. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, optimizing engagement strategies, and fostering brand advocacy within the pain management landscape. Reporting to senior leadership, the Executive Director will oversee a high-performing team, champion cross-functional collaboration, and deliver measurable impact through transformative solutions.


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership & KOL Engagement Strategy:

Lead a team of thought leaders to develop and execute a comprehensive KOL engagement strategy, including regional peer-to-peer marketing plans and faculty development. Ensure alignment with Pacira's overall brand strategy.
* Ensure alignment of KOL engagement activities with Pacira's overarching brand and corporate strategies.
* Strategic Collaboration:
Partner with Brand teams, sales, marketing, medical affairs, and other cross-functional teams to provide market insights, support KOL engagement, and drive strategic initiatives.
* Drive alignment across cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that address customer needs and amplify Pacira's value proposition.
* Education & Thought Leadership:
Develop and oversee educational platforms that support the value proposition of Pacira products. Innovate in educational solutions to engage KOLs at national and regional congresses and ensure content aligns with customer needs.
* Relationship Building:
Establish and strengthen high-impact relationships with academic and community KOLs, health system leaders, and corporate healthcare partners, ensuring alignment with Pacira's strategic priorities.
* Customer-Centric Education:
Develop and execute educational programs for healthcare providers, including workshops and peer-to-peer initiatives, to drive optimal product use and address key medical challenges.
* Regional Insights & Planning:
Analyze regional treatment trends and collaborate with analytics teams to inform data-driven education and engagement strategies.
* Provide actionable feedback to cross-functional teams to ensure marketing and engagement plans are regionally relevant and strategically aligned.
* Project Management & Budget Oversight:
Oversee the development, execution, and budget management of educational platforms and programs. Track project progress and provide regular updates to the team.
* Congress Strategy & Training:
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to plan and execute congress strategies and training initiatives, supporting product education and scientific exchange at national and regional meetings.
* Reporting & Metrics:
Lead team tracking efforts, ensuring regular updates on project milestones, key metrics, and outcomes.
* Travel:
The position requires approximately 70% travel to engage with external stakeholders, attend meetings, and support educational initiatives


Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:
* Proven experience in leading thought leader engagement and education programs, with a focus on building relationships and driving strategic initiatives.
* Strong leadership skills, with experience managing a team of thought leaders and cross-functional teams.
* Expertise in the pain management field, particularly related to KOL engagement and educational strategies.
* Ability to manage budgets, track project progress, and report on key metrics effectively.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with marketing, sales, and medical teams to align strategies and drive results.
* Strong communication skills, including the ability to present scientific and product updates to diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a customer-centric focus.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
May or may not have direct reports.

Interaction:
The Sr. Director, Thoughts leader Liaison supports all departments across Pacira as needed or requested

Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in health sciences, business, or a related field; an advanced degree is required.
* 15+ years of progressive experience in KOL engagement, education, or a related field, including leadership roles.
* Extensive experience partnering with cross-functional teams to align strategies and achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
* Proven ability to communicate effectively with sales and health care professionals.
* Demonstrated ability to incorporate working knowledge hospital system including, pharmacy,
surgical services (pre-operative, intraoperative and postsurgical care).
* Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to coach others on use of products and clinical applications, including
physicians, nurses and other health care providers.

* Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to work on a closely collaborative, cross-functional team.
* Demonstrated ability to develop technical training materials
* Demonstrated successful project management experience
* Proven ability to deliver training/education on behalf of our customers.
* Ability to travel up to 70%.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, move between spaces, reach with hands and arms and stoop. This position requires considerable hospital presence and requires the ability to walk and stand for periods of time and to navigate through hospitals, surgical centers and other healthcare facilities, including ORs.

The employee is regularly required to travel by automobile as well as by airplane and other forms of public transportation. The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time (up to several hours straight). The employee will be required to move quickly in OR and other hospital environments.]
