The Career Coach will be responsible for providing job search, job readiness skills and referrals for job training with a goal to help individuals attain a living wage. The Career Coach will coach clients on ways to reduce barriers to maintaining employment including working closely with the Senior Financial Education Staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Work on the Financial Education Center (FEC) team to provide all financial education and employment services programming including researching, developing and implementing FEC programming on an ongoing basis.

2.Provide case management to clients on a regular basis;



  1. Assist clients as needed in addressing specific issues regarding financial/credit management
  2. Identify services needed for members' personal, educational/or skill development to enhance employability
  3. Create individual employment goals
  4. Create personal finance management goals
  5. Work to reduce employment barriers by providing resources, supports and referrals
  6. Provide internal and external wrap around services to clients throughout job placement


3. Perform intake and data collection as per all funding source requirements

4. Maintain accurate participant records and prepare reports as required

5. Assist in the development of partnerships with local agencies and other community resources

6. Work with team members on planning and implementation of financial education programs and events throughout the year

7. Uphold the values of CTI - Equity, Integrity, Compassion.

8. Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Ability to take part in certification programs that include Financial Social Work, Credit Repair and Financial Career Coaching

Prior related experience required.

Attention to detail

Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Understanding of basic personal finance management

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Ability to maintain accurate records and maintain confidentiality of information

Knowledge and experience working with low income, culturally diverse, and at-risk individuals

Strong ability to problem-solve

Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available to low income households

Public speaking and outreach

Crisis management skills

Ability to travel to work sites

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment

Bilingual (English/Spanish, English/Haitian Creole, English/Portuguese) preferred.
