Job Overview
The Human Resources Generalist / AFSO supports the overall success of the Human Resources Department. This position is responsible for: supporting all assigned personnel security activities; processing personnel transactions, benefits enrollment and support, conducting new hire orientation, tracking FMLA occurrences, and researching/analyzing policies, procedures or other related issues. Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Work with Corporate HR and the Program Manager to coordinate HR activities.
- Classify, code, enter, update, file and/or retrieve paper and electronic records, charts, reports or documents. Perform routine file maintenance by identifying deficiencies, checking for missing information to ensure accuracy.
- Support recruitment activities, such as job fairs, employment verification and reference checks.
- Intake and report employee complaints and concerns to Corporate HR.
- Assist with disciplinary actions, investigations, performance management, employee engagement and other key HR functions.
- Work harmoniously to develop a sound security program; which may include developing spreadsheets, reports, presentations and correspondence related to security.
- Perform audits on Security folders, documents and processes.
- Facilitats the requests and submits the Common Access Card requests for Government approval. Maintains records/database for Common Access Cards (CAC).
- Educate and coordinates foreign travel. Processes foreign travel briefings/debriefings and tracking of dates/destinations.
- Process and protect personally identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive, personal information with regards to reporting responsibilities in a professional manner.
- Anticipate and prepare materials for security related activities.
- Advise administrative and management personnel on new procedures; request information needed from the other offices and adjust priorities to accommodate workload needs.
- Report all Security violations or concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience working in human resources.
- Possess, or complete within one (1) year of hire, DCSA Certifications.
- Be tactful and cooperative in dealing with others and must be discriminate in handling confidential matters.
- Working knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement and Services Contract Act.
- Computer experience with database programs and extensive knowledge operating MS Office programs, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining a Secret Security Clearance.
- Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
