Requirements

    Requires a minimum of a two-year technical degree and five or more years work related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment (such as Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, etc), familiarity with surface mount soldering skills
  • Experience being test support for the setup, operation, and tear-down of military vehicles and threat simulator equipment integrated with military/vehicles. This test support will occur both in the Huntsville location and at remote test locations such as White Sands Missile Range, and other test and training ranges throughout the United States
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required
  • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Familiar with variety of concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field


Desired Skills

  • Experience with complex electrical systems and components used in the manufacture and repair of radar systems, command and computing systems, and electro-optical imagers and devices
  • Experience with configuring network devices (i.e. switches, routers)
  • Experience with detailed design tasks requiring the application of CAD equipment; designs projects such as simulation, printed circuit boards, and electronic and electrical assemblies requiring development of schematics
  • Ability to manage technician teams, hours, and availability across multiple programs of similar systems
  • Ability to provide test, inspection, and training to technician teams regarding installation, troubleshooting, and repair of various electronic systems, including manufacturing recommendations and standards
  • Ability to interface with customers as a subject matter expert for various electronic systems during site integration and maintenance as necessary
  • Ability to travel for integration, maintenance, and/or services as necessary
  • Ability to interface with senior management and engineers regarding electronic component service and repair, task scheduling, and integration
  • Must be proficient at utilizing various test equipment (i.e. digital multimeter, oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer)
  • Self-starter capable of working in a fast paced high-pressure team environment
  • High degree of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Highly developed research and analytical skills


Description

  • Perform a variety of complex technical functions in support of engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical systems as well as experimental design circuitry, prototype models, and/or specialized test equipment
  • Assist engineering staff members in design, fabrication, integration and testing of electronic circuits and mechanical packaging including the development of electrical and mechanical prototype
  • Perform on-site installation, troubleshooting, and testing of company products and equipment. Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment
  • Develop test procedures, test plans, test reports, and procedures to maintain lab facilities and calibrate test equipment; May conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing
  • Establish procedures for the maintenance of laboratory facilities and equipment including cable diagrams, equipment schematics, and configurations to support various system arrangements
