Job Description

This position is at Tower Semiconductor San Antonio, Inc.
Lead the company's Quality organization, including responsibility for customer quality, supplier quality, ISO systems, and compliance management. Establish quality KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), goals, procedures, and policies by approving specification revisions, process changes, customer notifications, corrective action requests, 8D reports, audits, regulatory statutes, and guidelines. Manage customers' and suppliers' quality concerns, reporting and audits. Oversee quality project management including system introductions and training. Manage ISO and Automotive quality programs including ISO 9001, 27001, IATF 16949 certifications and ensure effectiveness of internal audits as well as monitor compliance standards. Establish and manage local and global quality initiatives and process improvement teams, including Cp/Cpk process capability index improvement, control plans, and tool and process FMEAs. Facilitate and support 5S programs to ensure cleanliness and audit readiness of the fabrication facilities.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in semiconductor process engineering, semiconductor integration engineering, semiconductor quality assurance engineering or any combination of these fields; experience must be in the semiconductor or automotive industry.

Work experience to include:

  • Five years of experience in semiconductor quality process engineering in the manufacturing environment.
  • Five years of project management experience in the manufacturing environment in semiconductor fabrication or automotive industry; must include process, systems, and methodologies improvements and new product development (Project Unit Steps and Change Control Board management).
  • Utilizing Root Cause Analysis principles (5Why and Fishbone) to conduct root-cause investigations and assessments of corrective action strategies and their effectiveness.
  • Leading and approving internal investigations and customer complaints, using 8D reporting methodology.
  • Managing internal and external Quality Audits (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and VDA 6.3) and meetings (including tracking records and actions internally and for customers).
  • Conducting internal audits (CAPA), non-conformances, and audit observations for regulatory and Quality Management System (QMS) compliance; must include ensuring external audit preparedness (fabrication facilities 5S program compliance).
  • Supporting local and global quality assurance initiatives and cross-functional teams; must include managing and improving Key Performance Metrics (process capability index (Cpk), yield, cycle time, and throughput).
  • Participating in Material Review Board (MRB), and handling Customer Complaints (SCARs) for customer quality concerns.
  • Measuring and monitoring customer satisfaction through Quality Business Reviews (QBRs) and Scorecards; must include direct contact with customers on engineering quality issues.
  • Overseeing and applying engineering principles and methods to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (ISO 9001 and IATF 16949) and Quality Management System (QMS) to optimize product development, manufacturing, and distribution.
  • Using Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor and analyze process capability and stability, and to identify potential process issues.
  • Using Design of Experiments (DOE) to reduce or eliminate defects and yield degradation in semiconductor manufacturing, including dispositioning problem wafers or lots.
  • Defining and maintaining Out-of-Control Action Plans (OCAPs).
  • Conducting GR&R (Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility) tests for Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Developing training and specification materials to enable the knowledge transfer of manufacturing processes and quality methodologies.
  • Any and all experience can be gained concurrently.
