Position Summary:

The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining the security and operation of the networks and connected devices by recommending standards, implementing policies and creating documentation while utilizing monitoring software and toolsets to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Maintaining LAN, WLAN, and WAN architecture including hardware and software
  • Test and Report on systems for vulnerabilities in hardware and software
  • Develop tracking scripts to record vulnerabilities of systems.
  • Troubleshoot, Fix, and Document existing infrastructure and security vulnerabilities
  • Measure, analyze and implement new security protocols for greater efficiency against threats and malfunctions.
  • Investigation of virus, spyware/malware, denial-of-service, and zero-day attacks.
  • Utilize current virus detection system to protect servers and endpoints
  • Network diagnostics, opening and maintaining trouble tickets, troubleshoot network problems to resolution, escalate to vendors if necessary.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field) or five (5) years related experience.
  • Preferred CompTIA Security + Certification, CCNA or equivalent
  • Knowledge of various security solutions such as AV, IPS, IDS, SIEM, and firewalls
  • Knowledge of various routing protocols including MPLS, BPG, and OSPF
  • Knowledge of Fortinet technologies including Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer, Fortinet Firewalls and Fortinet SD-WAN is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Knowledge of network Layer 1, Layer 2, ethernet and switching protocols
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Up to 25% of travel to offsite locations is required.
  • High-energy, self-motivated, well-organized
  • Work cooperatively with other OTC associates; be a Team player.
