Drug Information Center

University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy

Located within the UMKC School of Pharmacy, the Drug Information Center provides services to state governmental agencies, hospitals and other contractual clients. These services include evidence-based medical analyses, drug information, newsletters and other medical writing requests that will optimize pharmaceutical care. In addition, the Drug Information Call Center provides drug information throughout the calendar year, excluding major holidays, and is available to the public and health-care providers.

Job Description

The Drug Information Center at the UMKC School of Pharmacy is a multi-faceted center which provides client groups - consumers, health-care professionals, and institutions - with drug information and evidence-based recommendations to optimize pharmaceutical care. We ensure our clinical decision support services are unbiased, clear, and based in reputable evidence.

The Drug Information Center is seeking two candidates for a full time Drug Information Resident, (post-doctoral fellowship). Appointment duration is July 01, 2025 thru June 30 of the following year.

The Drug Information Residency is a customized post-doctoral program. This program prepares participants for careers encompassing drug information, specifically the practice of evidence-based decision making in a pharmacy practice setting.

Through our contracts, residents oversee and conduct clinical formulary management reviews monthly and quarterly. Residents serve as adjunct faculty, which allows them to assist with coordination of the Evidence Based Medicine course as well as precept their own APPE students monthly.

* Publish research in a peer-reviewed journal with the support of faculty

* Participation in the Residency Teaching Certificate Program

* Exposure to a variety of business administrative experiences

Full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit-eligible, unranked, non-tenure track academic position. Initial contract is 12 months beginning Summer 2025.

Qualifications

Must have a PharmD.

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $53,000.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
