The hiring range of this postilion is listed. Pay is based on minimum qualifications:


Facility Attendant I: $15.45 (Class Spec 7320)
Facility Attendant lI: $17.50 (Class Spec 7310)

Facilities Attendants I and II perform general and routine custodial duties in the preparation and clean-up of scheduled rental facility events for the City's Parks and Recreation Department. This position accomplishes a variety of custodial and customer service tasks such as greeting patrons, opening and closing facilities, cleaning facilities, and maintaining equipment inventory. Work is performed under close supervision - the incumbent is assigned duties according to specified procedures and receives detailed instructions; work is checked frequently and is reviewed through observation and review of results achieved.


Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Greets patrons as they enter the facility, communicate, and enforce safety rules and regulations.

Opens and closes facilities, cleans and sets up rooms, checks out equipment, and maintains equipment inventory.

Sweeps, strips, mops, waxes, and buffs floors; vacuums and shampoos carpet.

Lifts and moves risers and tables.

Washes windows, empties trash cans, waters plants, dusts, and polishes furniture.

Stock rooms and restrooms with appropriate supplies

Perform other work as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

General knowledge of occupational hazards, safety rules, and practices of the work.

General knowledge of departmental and municipal rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

General knowledge of standard and effective cleaning procedures.

Ability to work unsupervised at all Recreation Facilities buildings.

Ability to operate small hand tools, blowers, and pressure washers.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, city officials, and the general public.

Ability to communicate information tactfully and impartially, both in person and in writing with all staff, city officials, and the general public.

Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the City of Winter Park Core Competencies.

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and keep accurate records.

This position is performed with general knowledge - the incumbent is generally familiar with the information contained in relevant source documents or information in a particular subject field and has the ability to use relevant sources to obtain specific or supplemental information.


Typical Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Facilities Attendant I

High School Diploma or equivalent; supplemented by customer service and general labor experience. Experience in event attendance/management is preferred. Driver's License is desired.

Facilities Attendant II

Must meet the minimum job qualifications of a Facilities Attendant I and possess a Class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or must obtain NASFM Crowd Management Training Certification. Proficiency in the operation of facility specific audio-visual equipment and other vital equipment, such as but not limited to commercial kitchen equipment, cleaning and maintenance equipment, etc.

Note:

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities and other competencies required for the position may be considered.

All certifications must be current at the time of application and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.



Supplemental Information

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Physical

This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force repetitively to lift, carry, push, pull, and reposition objects.

Ability to traverse about a variety of city facilities/job sites, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to ascend/descend stairs, scaffolds, and ladders.

Ability to remain stationary at job sites for extended periods of time and repetitively operate related equipment for repairs/maintenance.

Ability to manipulate objects, demonstrate small, precise movements, and operate necessary equipment such as small hand and power tools repetitively or continuously.

Environmental

Tasks may require infrequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions including inclement weather, sun, extreme temperatures, odors, dirt and dust, loud noises, hazardous chemicals, etc.

Sensory

Tasks require the manipulation of objects and demonstration of small, precise movements, the ability to detect and distinguish various features of one's surroundings, and the ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with others.
