Job Overview

The Manager of Investigations is responsible for providing leadership, expertise, and training for store and field Asset Protection leadership regarding investigations while positively impacting the reduction of inventory shortage and controllable losses. The primary focus of the Manager of Investigations lies in supporting and developing the store and field Asset Protection leadership teams to become independent in all aspects of Internal Investigations and support of the Organized Retail Crime Strategy, driving all investigative programs, and manage high profile investigations.



Essential Functions


  • Lead in the development and implementation of each store's internal Investigations and Organized Retail Crime strategy. Work with the Asset Protection leader of each store to develop an internal strategy that is realistic, actionable, and measurable.
  • Responsible for the training, development and performance of the Asset Protection teams, including Interview training, red flag training, Internal Investigations, Organized Retail Crime, loyalty, reseller and excessive refunds Investigations.
  • Create and regularly review exception-based reports.
  • Effectively coach, train, and develop the Asset Protection staff of each store on all the investigative resources.
  • Effectively present data for prosecution and/or to business partners. Create and review exception-based reports.
  • Ability to develop investigations through exception reporting and trend analysis.
  • Create and regularly review exception-based reports.
  • Continually update and revise tools, systems and reporting for optimum performance.


Qualifications and Competencies



  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years direct experience
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Effectively handle multiple tasks and projects through completion while demonstrating the ability to communicate the findings clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
  • A current Certified Forensic Interviewer Certification (CFI) is preferred


Physical Requirements



  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision and climbing ladders
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary to perform job duties, including handheld electronic equipment.
  • Frequently lift/move up to 50lbs
  • Travel required 25%
