Engineer, Tooling / Supervisor

Work Schedule:

Onsite - Murphy, NC

To be considered for Toolmaker (A), here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Typically, at least 7 years of experience in tooling (not including trade school).
  • Must understand safety in using and be able to perform precision duties in the fabrication of tools and fixtures.
  • Experience working all phases of machine tool and die practice and be able to work close tolerance to + or - .0001.

As a Toolmaker (A), you will:

  • Specializes in the construction, repair, maintenance, and calibration of machine shop tools, jigs, fixtures, stamping dies, molds, and instruments.
  • Operates various machine tools and performs other highly skilled work such as layout-out, fitting, and assembling parts.
  • Receives drawings, sketches, parts, request from foreman or manufacturing engineers on what is requires and when.
  • Analyses mentally, makes sketches, drawings or layouts, consults handbooks, tables as required.
  • Cuts material from stock or orders
  • Draws tools from tool crib, lays out work and does all machining.
  • Does heat treating/grinding or other special processes to include making of stamping dies and setting dies and running first article.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
