Summary of the position
This Associate Director within the Academic Support Resources (ASR) IT unit will focus on supporting and enhancing the University's student data, shared data systems, and community-based services through strategic direction, people leadership, communication, data stewardship, and cross-departmental collaboration.The director will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal ASR managers, staff in various University departments, and external vendors and institutions.

Working closely with ASR IT and other stakeholders, this role will support initiatives, processes, and strategic planning for shared data management, student records, system support, and cross-functional integration efforts related to campus community data.

Responsibilities
Leadership and Management: 50%

  • Oversee and manage the Campus Community/Shared Data, Admissions, and Student Records teams (approx. 14 direct reports)
  • Responsible for hiring, performance evaluations, mentoring, training, and development.
  • Establish team priorities, staffing, and resource planning to align with strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement standards and best practices for data management, system support, and customer service specific to Campus Community (monitoring shared data messaging between Campus Solutions, HR, and OIM) functions.
  • Work with senior management to plan and execute strategies that meet both immediate and long-term data and system support needs.
  • Conduct project management for key initiatives, ensuring objectives align with ASR and University priorities.

Data Management, Systems Support, and Project Oversight 30%

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of data and systems related to campus community and shared data functions.
  • Ensure data integrity, access, and usage standards are upheld across departments and applications.
  • Coordinate with University IT and other support areas to maintain smooth operations and address data needs.
  • Act as the primary resource for understanding shared data and its business processes within ASR and across the University.

Stakeholder Engagement and Consulting 15%

  • Foster productive relationships with university administrators, faculty, and staff to promote data-informed decision-making.
  • Represent ASR on university-wide committees related to data governance and campus community systems.
  • Share insights on campus data trends, collaborate on enterprise data initiatives, and coordinate with other institutions to stay informed of best practices.
  • Design and implement metrics to assess stakeholder satisfaction and improve service delivery.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience within information technology and data management, including data quality assurance
    and governance.
  • Experience managing and developing professional staff.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of motivating teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with PeopleSoft or similar student information systems.
  • Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, and enterprise reporting tools.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $124,658 - $131,051 depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment
