About the Job

The Political Science program seeks a person who will teach one fully online (asynchronous) section of POL 1050 International Relations during Spring 2025. The position will be for only one semester and the successful candidates would be expected to begin immediately after being hired. The instructor is responsible for creating class lectures, ordering and making available class materials, and assessing student performance. The class will be offered on Canvas, the University of Minnesota Duluth Learning Management System. The successful applicant will have experience with Canvas and online teaching.

Qualifications

  • The position requires a Ph.D. in Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Expected to be familiar with teaching across modalities.
About the Department

The Department of History, Political Science, and International Studies is in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS) offering majors and minors in History, Museum Studies, and Public History and contributes to other interdisciplinary offerings throughout the college.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $51,178 - $66,011 for a full-time faculty member at this level; depending on education/qualifications/experience. Salary is adjusted to reflect that the successful candidate is offering one, three credit course.

While our salary ranges provide a framework, it is important to note that most of the time, the initial pay may not reach the maximum of the range. This approach ensures that compensation reflects the value and unique contributions of each candidate while maintaining equity within our organization. As part of our commitment to fair and equitable compensation, please be aware that the salary offered to incoming candidates will be based on their individual credentials and experience.
