Within CO+I, the Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team is responsible for improving overall availability and efficiency for Microsoft's cloud business. We have multiple teams focused on both Microsoft and Lessor datacenter performance and all aspects of datacenter utilization effectiveness that includes power, water and labor. We are seeking a Senior Supply Planner to support the Operational Supply Chain across datacenters globally. This role will drive direction and lead forward and reverse complex supply plans determining the best operating model to optimize service levels, cost, and inventory positioning based on the uncertainty of true demand. This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location. This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to 100%.
ResponsibilitiesSpares Planning: develop and maintain spares forecast/demand plans, define planning methods (min/max, safety stocks, forecast-based, etc.), establish and execute on target stocking level strategies, regularly update forecast based on actual consumption, establish feedback loops for improvements in forecast accuracy over period of time, setup MRP, and define and refine master data to support the spares ecosystem integration. Inventory Management: Maintain and report inventory levels across all stocking locations, manage work order activities for spares production, implement processes for returns from field, and coordinate warranty claims with suppliers. Supply Chain Management: Escalate and resolve field supply chain issues, prioritize service based on material lead times and availability, track and analyze material consumption trends, review engineering change orders affecting spare parts, ensure HW compatibility for spare parts. Define new data-driven models to support the evolving business need and optimize service level. Partner with data center operations to promote transparency of sparing strategy and to identify opportunities related to inventory optimization. Build strong working relationships across multiple disciplines (Sourcing, Finance, Data Center Operations, Suppliers and others), cultivating strategic relationships and influence across the organization. Implement measurement frameworks to enable data-driven decision-making, work independently and be agile in a dynamic and growing environment. Drivecontinuous improvements by validating use cases and writing test cases from scratch to support various technology and supply chain transformation projects. Provideexpertise needed for departments to collect performance metrics, oversee customer support, and define, lead, and mentor others in direct customer engagements.
