THE POSITION

Utilize your research experience as an Intelligence Analyst 1 for the Pennsylvania State Police! We are seeking a detail-oriented, hardworking person to join our team in the Analytical Intelligence Section and help evaluate criminal intelligence information. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Intelligence Analyst 1, you will be responsible for receiving and analyzing information of a confidential nature, evaluating the information, and writing comprehensive reports based on available data. Your duties will include utilizing computerized systems and software to research investigative and intelligence information in a variety of databases. In this position, you will work directly with investigators to collect, evaluate, and disseminate comprehensive reports related to state, local, regional, and national security. You can expect to provide tactical and actionable investigative support and real-time intelligence for investigations, research and analyze criminal intelligence data, and aid law enforcement agencies using various law enforcement sensitive databases. Additionally, you will assist with identifying and communicating the validity of incoming tips to determine the course of action and forward the lead to the appropriate agency for investigation.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours will be determined through rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends.
  • Telework: This position does not offer telework.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $54,266.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of paraprofessional research experience that includes gathering, analyzing, and organizing information, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 60 college credits.

Additional Requirements:

  • This position also requires possession of a Top Secret Security Clearance issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or attainment of this clearance during the probationary period, and continual maintenance of this clearance during employment in the position. Failure to obtain and maintain an FBI Top Secret Security Clearance will result in the employee's removal from the position. Removal may result in the termination of employment if other placement options are not available.
  • You must have two years of experience in the criminal justice field.
  • You must have one year of experience in the use of multiple specialized analytical and intelligence systems; local, state, and federal databases; as well as open-source outlets and social media platforms.
  • You must obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
  • You must be willing to work onsite full-time. Teleworking is not an option as part of this position's work schedule.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Two years of experience performing online research.
  • Two years of experience in written communication, providing overviews and summaries.
  • One year of experience in gathering and analyzing data; and organizing and presenting those facts clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
