Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the expansion, profitability, and sustainability of the network opportunities. This role involves identifying primary network partners, nurturing relationships, and ensuring the alignment with agreed goals and performance standards.

This role is specific to growing the project business, routed by network offices to and from the USA. This role oversees the pricing team, as the success of expanding this market is closely tied to the pricing strategies and commercial activities within the branch in relation to the network.

Duties and Responsibilities

Network Expansion:

* Develop and execute strategic plans to identify and engage network offices in target markets.

* Research market trends, demographics, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.

* Promote territory development, including advertising, lead generation, and screening.

* Present the network SLA model to strategic network partners. Implement the agreements with the operation teams.

Network Relationship Management:

* Build and maintain strong relationships with network members to foster collaboration and trust.

* Act as the primary point of contact for members, addressing their concerns and facilitating their success.

* Monitor the partnership and provide coaching or support to our branch as needed to improve results.

* Organize and participate in member meetings, training sessions, and conferences.

Projects and DSV Compliance Oversight:

* Ensure members adhere to project guidelines, operational standards, and contractual obligations.

* Collaborate with the marketing and operations teams to ensure a consistent customer experience across the network.

* Conduct regular audits or site visits to evaluate compliance and operational excellence.

Financial and Strategic Goals:

* Work closely with the finance team to monitor network performance and profitability.

* Analyse data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities within the network.

* Prepare reports and present recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement.

* Support members in developing and implementing business plans to achieve financial targets.

Marketing and Partnerships:

* Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional campaigns that drive sales and project awareness.

* Establish partnerships and alliances to enhance the network offering and attract new members.

Supervisory Responsibilities (if any)

* This position will be responsible for leading and managing the pricing team.

Educational background / Work experience

* Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 to 5 years of professional experience

* 2-5 years of business development or account management experience in supply chain industry

* Ideal candidate will have experience selling to Tier 1 corporate end customers in multinational environment

* Prior history in leading cross-functional teams to successful execution

* Proven experience in business development, networks, or sales.

* Strong understanding of operational models and industry best practices.

* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* Ability to travel frequently to meet with members and assess market opportunities.

Skills & Competencies

* Be able to work as a team member and foster a cooperative work environment, while also being an individual contributor

* Excellent negotiation skill to secure contracts with client

* Proven ability to resolve problems and build consensus, given competing priorities and multiple perspectives

* General knowledge of Finance, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Logistics methodologies

* Microsoft Office Suite with demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook

* Strategic conceptual thinking processes & strong analytical skills with focus on critical thinking

* Excellent professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in local language and English

* Strong presentation skills

* Must be comfortable working through ambiguous situations and advising senior management on appropriate course of action

* Ability to develop effective working relations with colleagues and clients across different functions, office locations and time zones

* Cross functional team management skills

* Able to rapidly adapt to unexpected job demands/changes in assignments

* Performs other related duties as assigned

* Results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting and exceeding growth targets.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role is a mix of office-based work and travel to network locations, trade shows, and meetings with clients. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as the role requires working with diverse stakeholders across multiple regions.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $78,000 - $117,500 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
