Roles and Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and adequately apply powder paint to product by performing the following duties
  • Is knowledgeable of the function and capability of equipment, systems and guns necessary for applying powder paint to customer product. Understands and performs color change procedures
  • Understands the quality requirements and notifies the supervisor or corrects all situations that may result in a nonconforming part
  • Observes paint booth operation to detect defects or machine malfunction
  • Is trained in the use of and is medically approved to use half face and air supplied respirators
  • Reads and understands job order or product specifications
  • Assists on the line as needed in plugging, masking, hanging and removing product
  • Has the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Has the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

Requirements

  • Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Has a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to operate forklift and overhead crane
  • Knowledge of equipment (cranes, shears, saws, motors, burning equipment)
  • Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding
