STS Technical Services is seeking an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of sheet metal repairs, modifications, and overhauls on aircraft with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high proficiency in various aircraft sheet metal tasks, working with technical data and drawings to ensure quality repairs and modifications are made in accordance with FAA regulations and industry standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect, repair, modify, and overhaul aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Highly proficient in fabrication, cold working, flap peening, and jacking/shoring aircraft.
- Utilize technical data and drawings to identify part numbers and perform repairs accurately.
- Ensure all work performed adheres to the highest quality standards for safety and compliance.
- Effectively direct and mentor less experienced mechanics to ensure proper workflow and quality standards are met.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support aircraft maintenance operations.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

- Skills: Proficient in using technical data and drawings to complete repairs, with hands-on experience in fabrication and cold working.
- Licensing: FAA certifications or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
