Entry Level Field Service Technician
This job will be located in our Chicago (Itasca) Engineering Services facility. Job Description: As an Entry-Level Field Engineer at KEYENCE, you will get to operate daily on the world's most innovative Factory Automation products in manufacturing facilities across the country. Your day to day could include assembling, installing, connecting, coding, and diagnosing KEYENCE products on some of the most advanced lines in the industry. It requires problem solving skills, a strong communicator, the ability to travel, and someone that wants to keep learning as they grow with the company. Responsibilities and Duties
Regular travel to customer sites in order to:
Assist with integration of KEYENCE equipment (product mounting, configuration setup, etc.) on machine shop and factory production floors. Verify proper operation of KEYENCE products according to project specification. Optimize KEYENCE product configuration, including mechanical and digital adjustments. Provide guidance on product integration, operation, and use. Diagnose KEYENCE products for improper configuration and/or operation.
Maintain records of customer interactions and transactions to include recording details of inquiries, requests and complaints as well as actions taken. Compile post visit work summary reports. Prepare KEYENCE equipment for customer use. Travel 50-60% of the time to include overnight travel on short notice. 3rd shift, weekend, and holiday travel may be required depending on market need.
Requirements and Qualifications
2-year degree or trade school equivalent, preferably with a manufacturing, engineering, electronics, or maintenance technology focus Ability to lift 30-70 lbs. of equipment, including 20-30 lbs. overhead. Ability to climb a step ladder. Ability to use hand tools and electronic devices. Computer skills: Position requires regular use of Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Word), as well as custom software to interface with Keyence products via USB and/or ethernet connections. Valid driver's license required. Must be proficient in the English Language, secondary language is a plus.

High degree of attention to detail Ability to establish and maintain good communication with internal support teams, salespeople, and customers. Analytical skill to troubleshoot and determine necessary product adjustments. Integrity - job requires appropriate handling of confidential and sensitive information.
