SUMMARY

Track and coordinates the repair of all Repairable Parts from the operating unit to the repair facility and back into the warehouse. Schedule and order parts for the internal repair shop. Create work orders to track cost and material and coordinate with the logistics group to ship repairable parts to the repair facility. Support Maintenance Planning Team in expediting and scheduling parts and planning jobs for large turnarounds.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Schedule and coordinate the repair for all repairable parts.
  • Create Work Orders in SAP to track cost for all repairable parts jobs and create AFE's for Capital Spare Parts when necessary.
  • Evaluate repair vs replacement cost for repairable parts to make the most economical decision.
  • Create purchase requisitions for stock material items that need to be repaired by outside repair facilities.
  • Lead weekly repair shop backlog meetings to review and prioritize the Westlake shop's work order backlog list.
  • Order parts for repairable work orders completed in-house.
  • Manage Westlake repair shop repair plans and update plans as needed.
  • Set up GMN's (Westlake part numbers) and correct BOM's (Westlake Bill of Materials) if necessary to keep local repair plans up to date.
  • Monitor requisition queue in SAP for MRP items that are marked repairable.
  • Request quotes and lead time for repairs from repair facilities.
  • Track and expedite orders as applicable for on-time delivery from vendors.
  • Work directly with vendors as the interface between purchasing and maintenance to request quotes and lead times for parts needing to be sent out for repairs.
  • Ship repairable parts using hot shot service, logistics-company, LTL, or Freight line.
  • Monitor Daily & TA Backlogs and work with Vendors / Buyers to eliminate long lead time delays. Provide updates as needed to appropriate planner and management representative.
  • Provide detailed information to the sub-contractors needed by them to develop cost estimates and to be properly prepared for the work.
  • Support Planners in Producing and Submitting Requisitions for large Turnarounds.
  • Support Planners in building job plans and walking out jobs for large Turnarounds.
  • Support Planners prior to a Large event in verifying parts have been delivered correctly and "kit" parts by jobs where possible.
  • Work directly with Purchasing & Warehouse to track and ensure timely delivery of parts ordered for Large Turnarounds.
  • Temporarily backfill a planner role when the need may arise.
  • Participate in periodic vendor performance reviews and audits in conjunction with Purchasing.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Perform duties in a manner that protects personal safety as well as the safety of all personnel on site. Whenever appropriate, promptly report Safety, Health or Environmental incidents or issues to management so the situation can be corrected. Attend Monthly Safety Meetings to help prevent off site and job accidents.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree or equivalent plant experience of maintenance and repair of equipment such as exchangers, piping, pumps, compressors, instrument and electrical systems, and other related chemical process equipment.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance, Purchasing Module, and Material Master Transactions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of planning, scheduling and repair practices and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job is performed mainly in control room or office setting; physical presence is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; have full use and range of motion of arms, hands and fingers to reach, grasp, hold, push or pull, twist, and work with tools; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to perform tasks that may require bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lying down or working from elevated platforms. The employee must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to see details of objects that are more/less than a few feet away; see differences between colors, shades and brightness and determine the distance between objects. This job requires response to audible emergency alarms inside of the plant. Employee must be able to evacuate when required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee must be able to work in a normal factory environment, including enclosed spaces and exposure to various hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, flame retardant clothing, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
