Our ideal candidate

Responsible for leading and support of the Mortgage Servicing team; ensures accurate and timely servicing of the C.U. portfolio loans; oversees the production of loan documentation relating to onboarding, servicing and closing of all mortgage and equity loans; ensures loans and agreements comply with state and federal laws, regulations and Bank lending policies and procedures; ensures department activities run smoothly and efficiently; provides leadership, training and supervision within the department; and provides a high level of customer relations and service. The position of Mortgage Servicer III as a lead, performs direct support duties of department staff, coordinates staff for coverage for Mortgage Servicing in all related areas of the department, and is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in all areas of OneAZ Credit Union portfolio loans, construction loans, escrow holdback products, conventional, and home equity loan programs as well as servicing these loans. Will also support and service loans serviced by our third-party servicer for Fannie Mae Sold loans including wholesale and correspondent relationships. Monitor Arm loan changes and adjustments/notices including balloon loans. Assist in training of servicing positions and creation of policy and procedures as needed. Works directly with direct leadership to resolve issues for member mortgage loans.

A typical day might include the following

  • Ability to conduct team huddles or lead team meetings on department and product-program updates.
  • Assist in training all primary servicing functions within the department, along with the creation/maintenance of policy and procedures as needed.
  • Oversee department processes and ability to seek out efficiencies, along with managing process through implementation.
  • Ability to work with closing/post-closing team as necessary for loan resolutions on loan issues on both portfolio and sub-serviced pipeline.
  • Ability to work closely with Loan Fulfillment Operations leadership on document and program changes.
  • Assist department leadership with escalated member or third-party member communications, including research and problem resolution.
  • Complete payments, escrow, principal paydowns and loan payoff request within core system.
  • Onboarding and quality review of new funded loans to core or third-party vendor.
  • Manage the complete process for insurance damage claims through final disbursement.
  • Complete system upgrade testing, annual upgrade testing.
  • Assists construction loan team, including construction draws, final draw and loan conversion to permanent financing documents and system updates.
  • Review and manages daily reporting and payment of Hazard insurance premium payments including management of uninsured pipeline with CPI vendor.
  • Review semi-annual reporting/payments of property taxes, disbursements of escrowed loans, manage non-escrow delinquency payments and notifications.
  • Prepare and manage Arizona annual escrow analysis requirements and incoming shortage payments.
  • Develops working knowledge of department budget. Monthly balancing in accordance with established department procedures including communication and balancing to accounting.
  • Process daily sub-servicing payments, ability to review third party system, formatting excel reports and balance.
  • Assist with Escrow holdback loans and Construction Draw management to project completion.
  • Work directly with Loan Servicing Leadership on servicing projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to complete loan payoff within servicing platform, review and complete Lien Release of deeds of trust and trailing recorded docs to be received.
  • Complete annual vendor management updates, review and collect required documents for department leadership.
  • Ability to complete re-amortization and partial release requests
  • Review, prepare and complete externally submitted subordination request.
  • Support branch and department associates as subject matter experts for all mortgage servicing questions and tasks processed.
  • Coachable and ability to coach peers. Ability to be open to feedback and embrace the "Play to Win" spirit in working together.
  • Proficient with various loan servicing platforms, Fiserv DNA is a plus.

Education

  • High School Diploma Required
  • 2-year college degree or completion of specialized course of study

Experience

  • 7-10 years financial industry experience or 8 to 10 years of similar or related experience.
  • 6-years mortgage experience preferred or 5 to 8 years of similar or related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' Supervisory experience needed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of Mortgage Loan Servicing and lending practices.
  • Knowledge of and Mortgage Closing/funding a plus.
  • Knowledge of Arizona county recording requirements.
  • Understanding of Arizona escrow analysis requirements.
