Huntsman's Performance Products Division is seeking an Americas Regional Sales Director supporting our facility in The Woodlands, Texas. This position will report to Vice-President Americas Region.

This is a key leadership position where the preferred candidate becomes part of a succession plan for the Vice President level talent bank within the organization.

In summary, as the Americas Regional Sales Director, you will:

  • Drive Americas Regional sales to ensure the results are fully aligned with the Global and regional strategies, business development plans, and financials,
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Americas business strategy by executing the plan for top line growth,
  • Provide strong leadership to the sales organization:
    • Recruit, train, and develop Sales associates and managers,
    • coach and challenge the team to improve efficiencies and overall effectiveness of the team/individuals,
    • Ensure good collaboration and interface with other functions, e.g. the Technical Services Manager/Director, the regional Supply Chain Director, global marketing resources, and the Manufacturing Director,
    • Ensure robust management via agreed business processes and systems (e.g. Integrated Business Planning) and lead change and transition in sales teams as business demands change,
    • Ensure correct deployment of the sales force into the appropriate market and/or geographical area.
  • Drive the net sales and margin in relevant markets to meet or exceed budget,
  • Manage samples, receivables, returns, DSO and overdues in an effective way,
  • Execute the pricing strategy by market in and participate actively in pricing and contract negotiations with key customers, including contract formulation to mitigate risks,
  • Set up and manage the regional price list,
  • Manage customer expectations for Credit (Payment) issues and Customer Complaints
  • Implement and maintain a high level of conformance on EHS awareness across the Sales organization,
  • Ensure full compliance with company policy and local, regional laws,
  • Provide 24-month forecasts monthly in line with established group accuracy targets,
  • Make route-to-market recommendations, i.e. direct accounts, distribution options, etc. based on business input and strategy,
  • Ensure dialogue and management interaction with business development group to implement account activity securing transition from development plans to budget.

Required Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Education

  • University degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Business Administration,
  • Fluency in English is required. Other languages skills are an asset.

Experiences

  • 5 years (at least) of experience leading business to business marketing of industrial products, with strong knowledge of marketing processes & organizations,
  • 10+ years of Senior Sales Management or Marketing Management preferably in the chemical industry (Epoxy or composite resins industry experience is a strong asset),
  • Solid track record in sales growth and management of a large team spread across the Americas.
  • Estimated 30 to 50 percent travel

Skills & Knowledge

  • Solid basis in Financials and Sales,
  • Good communication skills and interpersonal skills are required,
  • Ability to drive business through a matrix organization (cross-functional alignment),
  • Strong negotiations skills are required,
  • Solid "Team Player" within the organization,
  • Strong / Proven track record as a Sales leader and growing sales.
