Summary

The Group Leader of Material Planning has a macro vision of all the material planning in a business unit/line of business. Exercises judgment and initiative in interpreting policies in the material planning and implementation of work assignments. Effectively allocates time and resources to meet budget objectives and program schedule in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 7 highly skilled Material Planners and Expeditors

  • Perform in a Manager capacity in the absence of Material Planning Manger

  • Assist in organizing and planning team meetings, discussing project logistics, assigning duties, setting goals, addressing concerns and troubleshooting problems

  • Provides regular feedback on the status of On-time-delivery (OTD), manpower, and material/labor budget in adherence to the Program requirements.

  • Manages departmental adherence to government MMAS audit requirements and internal and external AS9100 audit

  • Participate in proposal and bid efforts that include material work to provide scheduling input for Program and Capture managers

  • Assist in managing team's performance against metrics

  • Act as a liaison between functional organizations such as Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Program Management, and Engineering

  • Utilizes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems

  • Manages multiple complex projects or processes with little to no oversight

  • Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results. Work is performed with little oversight

  • Contributes to program success as an integral member of the Integrated Program Team (IPT)

  • Explains, interprets, and gains cooperation on policies, procedures and practices

  • Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are complex and may require comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem

  • Problems typically involve consideration of multiple issues, job areas or specialties. Problems are generally solved through creative solutions, drawing from prior experience and in-depth analysis of issues Works to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results

  • Contributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.)

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, Supply Chain Management, or minimum of 5 years Material Planning/Supply Chain experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with MRP and ERP systems

  • Experience in Manufacturing or Production environment

  • Experience with DFAR, MMAS, and AS9100 compliance

  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to motivate, inspire and lead team members in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities

  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills

  • Ability to produce, and analyze reports

  • Must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project)

  • Strong written and verbal skills

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work flexible hours and overtime as needed, including occasional weekends.

  • Occasional travel between company sites
